Description

now where was I...

CINDER
1994:A petty Criminal turned into a being made of fire, via experiments done on him in Ultratech's lab [with alien based technology] fights in the original tournament in he hopes that there's a cure and a pardon waiting for him---basically he's a hot-shot rush type character for a game filled with beefy dudes

2015: Apparently my take on Cinder in 2012 was spot on, he's a trash-talking, cocky SOB, the kind that is not annoying---this time instead of merely being a pawn, he's an employee of Ultratech, the fire powers are still a result of experimentation...however I don't think it was accidental this time ;D [not sure I like how he came out here...]

FULGORE
1994:The original posterboy for Killer instinct, Fulgore-01 is the prototype for a line of super robot soldiers, entered in the KI tournament to test his effectiveness, if he wins, his model will go into production...his one issue is his habit of malfunctioning a problem that stems from his origin

2015: Fulgore-03 represents Ultratech as always, I feel that visually his new design is a downgrade from KI 2 possibly because the new KI is a remake of KI1[1/2]...and to be honest there's not much that can be improved upon without completely overhauling the character---oh and apparently Thunder's brother Eagle's [personality] is implanted in his body because Ultratech wanted a "fighting spirit" to inhabit it [you mean you can't program a murderbot to kill things on it's own?]...it may be why he malfunctions so much 8]

RIPTOR
1994: one of Ultratech's experiments; a humanoid dinosaur bred to fight above all else and an obvious homage to Jarassic Park's [Utah]raptors [not to mention Talon from Primal rage]---if [she] wins we lose!

2015: the results are in; Riptor's a Lady! :iconlachoirplz: [the developers at Iron Galaxy, [makers of Killer Instinct Season 2, refer to Riptor as a "female"]--- and boy is she ever; the new version has all this cybernetic weaponry built in, Ultratech emblazoned on it's side like a brand-name, and a hexagonal grid pattern worthy of a Ralph Lauren bag [designer cyborgs, and dinos? Women and their trends XD] never mind day-glo claws...apperently Riptor's a raver also XD---she's built more like a dinosaur versus a humanoid this time but I kept my anthro style in here just to be consistent

SPINAL-
or should I say SPINAAAALL XD

1994: Spinal was reanimated by Ultratech, and fights because he doesn't remember anything else, He also had no cultural identity apart from an ambiguous assemblage of ironage weapons, and supernatural powers

Spinal was one of the first Dead characters in a fighting game allowed on the SNES, not undead, not redead, DEAD---if you don't know already Nintendo had a strict policy against dead/revenant type characters in its games apart from say vampires [of course] because they weren't considered family friendly---well bonehead was more than just a monster inserted to frighten people so I suppose that's why they let it slide...also without him the game was too easy

2015: Spinal's a pirate... also I'm no expert on anatomy but whoever Spinal was when he was alive he was HUGE; those are some thick bones he's got there!---also compared to before he has a reason for fighting; this time he's searching for an ancient artifact, a quest that ultimately left him wandering the earth as a revenant...yikes, also it appears that the new team borrowed from Rareware's bad habit of reusing digital props; looks like Spinal raided the storage closet for cool factor

wait...Pirate...skeleton...artifact....Cervantes is that you? D;
